Roundtable Discussion with IOM

On 12 March, AMCHAM organized a roundtable discussion with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Malaysia and the U.S. Embassy to facilitate dialogue on ethical business conduct and responsible recruitment practices.

As IOM Malaysia develops its private sector engagement strategy, the session provided an opportunity to better understand how the organization can support U.S. businesses operating in Malaysia, particularly on issues related to business and human rights.

The roundtable also enabled members to share perspectives on challenges faced by U.S. companies producing in Malaysia when accessing global markets. Discussions covered topics including migrant worker rights, the impact of labor bans, emerging mandatory human rights due diligence regulations, and evolving international compliance requirements.

AMCHAM thanks Mattias Carlson, Program Coordinator at IOM Malaysia, and his team for taking the time to engage with our members.
