About AMCHAM
Founded in 1978, the American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) is an international, non-profit, private-sector business association and the voice of U.S. business in Malaysia. We provide relevant business information to our members, serve as a platform to represent members’ interests to Malaysian and U.S. stakeholders, and organize business and social networking events that foster closer ties with Malaysian businesses and local communities.
Today, AMCHAM comprises more than 1,600 members representing about 300 American, Malaysian, and other international companies, and is a member of the AmChams of Asia Pacific (AAP).
Our Mission
AMCHAM’s mission and objectives are rooted in the Chamber’s founding documents and focus on:
- Promoting and strengthening U.S.–Malaysia business and community ties.
- Providing a forum for members to exchange views on business conditions affecting their interests.
- Supporting, representing, and protecting member interests, including on trade and related issues.
- Providing resources, networking opportunities, and support for the American business community in Malaysia.

Datuk Tim Garland
Despite earning an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Denver and working for 10 years in the manufacturing systems business at Rockwell, Tim ultimately discovered that the advertising industry was a more adventurous and creative playground.
Datuk Timothy left Rockwell in 2001 to lead the manufacturing practice at Asia-based consulting startup Mercatela, where the seeds of MYALO, a digital strategy and communications startup, were sown.
In 2006, after three years of building MYALO he sold it to TBWA where he was COO from 2006-2010. In 2010, Tim shifted gears and built an ASEAN-centric capital market practice for TBWA to develop brand strategies and guide brand behavior for numerous ASEAN entities expanding their presence globally. Well awarded for his brand, digital and public relations work, the digitization of “Malaysia, Truly Asia” for Tourism Malaysia was one of his most fun and awarded projects.
He is now focusing his efforts on startups and is the CEO of START Disrupt, a venture builder that validates, creates, and deploys technology led businesses with brand at the forefront.
Datuk Timothy is the current Chairman of the American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM). He was also the President of AMCHAM from 2002-2005, during which time he was awarded a Datukship from His Majesty, The King of Malaysia, for actively developing US-Malaysia trade relationships.

Antony Lee
Antony Lee is the Chief Executive Officer of AIG Malaysia Insurance Bhd. Antony, a Malaysian citizen, has been in the insurance sector for over 25 years. Prior to this appointment, he was the CEO of AIG Vietnam. Antony began his career at AIG in 2001 as VP of Business Development with AIG’s Software International JV based in Malaysia, following which he held a regional role as VP of Consumer and Commercial business based in Singapore.
Antony holds a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Diploma in Architecture from University College London and is also a graduate of AIG’s Executive Development Management program.
He currently serves as Deputy Chairman of the General Insurance Association of Malaysia (PIAM) & as Vice Chairman of the American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM). He is also a director of the Financial Markets Ombudsman Service (FMOS) and the Nicol David Organization (NDO).

Anushia Soosaipillai
Anushia has more than 25 years of experience in PwC Malaysia specialising in the areas of transfer pricing and IRB audits. Her vast experience includes assisting and advising companies in various transfer pricing projects and defending challenges to transfer prices by tax authorities in tax audits and investigation.
She has a lot of experience in dealing with the Malaysian tax authorities on audits and also regularly engages in dialogues with regulators to share insights and technical views.
She also is a technical member of Chartered Institute of Taxation TP Technical team for the past 9 years.
Anushia has a Bachelor of Law Degree and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Queensland, Australia. She is a member of the Chartered Taxation Institute of Malaysia (CTIM) and a Fellow of CPA Australia. Anushia is a Board of Governor for the American Malaysia Chamber of Commerce.

Abhishek Chuckarbutty
Abhishek Chuckarbutty is the General Manager for Abbott’s nutrition business in Malaysia, responsible for driving growth and advancing science-based nutrition solutions in a dynamic and competitive market. He brings nearly 25 years of international leadership experience from Reckitt, where he held senior roles across marketing, eCommerce, category and general management in India, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Turkey.
Abhishek has led iconic global brands such as Vanish, championed data-driven, purpose-led innovation, and delivered sustained business transformation through high-performing, cross-functional teams. He is also a strong advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion, actively engaging with organizations such as LEAD Network to support the development of women leaders. Combining strategic vision with a people-first leadership style, Abhishek consistently focuses on delivering sustainable growth while creating positive impact for consumers, communities and stakeholders.

Gautam Puntambekar
Gautam Puntambekar is the Managing Director and Malaysia Country Head at Bank of America. He is also the Principal Officer for Bank of America, N.A. Labuan Branch. Gautam is responsible for heading all of operations and entities in Malaysia. With more than 25 years of banking experience across many segments, he has established excellent relationships with major-multinational companies and financial institutions during his tenure in India and Singapore.
Gautam was the Chief Executive Officer for Bank of America N.A., Singapore where he managed the regional multi-national’s coverage team, covering regional clients with pan Asia presence across all industry groups on top of managing regulatory responsibilities and having oversight of the branch operations.
He is a Bachelor of Commerce, Management graduate and holds a distinction in Cert-ICM, a course by the Association of Corporate Treasures, UK. He also holds a Diploma in Global Business Markets from Said Business School, Oxford University

Dato’ Fearghal Hennessy
Fearghal leads the Boston Scientific Penang’s Senior Leadership Team and oversees all aspects of the Penang site. He originally came to Malaysia in 2016, as the Operations Director.
He started his career with Boston Scientific in the Cork, Ireland plant in 2005. Since then, he has held various international roles across engineering, process development, project management, and supply chain. In 2011 he relocated to Sunnyvale, California, as the operations site lead for two acquired sites. He returned to the Cork site as production director, during which time he also led the acquired Celonova operations site in Ulm, Germany.
Fearghal is committed to driving operational excellence and continuous improvement through end-to -end supply chain collaboration, to support the customer. He is also passionate about cultivating a high performing team culture, through coaching and talent development. Fearghal has a wealth of experience in product design, engineering and supply chain, in Molex, Artesyn, General Semiconductor and Johnson & Johnson. Fearghal holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Limerick, Ireland and Master in Business Admin (MBA) from MTU, Ireland.

Vikram Singh
Vikram Singh was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Citibank Malaysia effective 1 May 2023. In his current role, he is responsible for leading Malaysian franchise, leveraging Citi’s global strengths and further enhancing Citi’s position as a leading bank and employer of choice. He also has oversight of the Citi Solutions Centers in Malaysia.
Prior to this, Vikram was the Head of Citi Asia Pacific Regional Account Management, Global Subsidiaries Group where he managed top 200 MNC relationships for 18 markets in APAC including Japan.
Vikram is a 24-year Citi veteran with vast corporate banking experience that spans across 18 countries in Asia Pacific. He joined Citi in 1999 as Risk Head for Commercial Bank, North India and from 2004 to 2015, held various leadership roles in India, covering large local corporates.
During his role as Head of Corporate & Investment Banking in the Philippines from 2016 to 2021,Vikram accomplished double digit revenue growth by devising and deploying robust business strategies. Vikram holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Delhi University, New Delhi and a Master’s degree in Management from International Management Institute, New Delhi.

Connor Dunn
Connor Andrew Dunn is the President of ConocoPhillips Malaysia. He brings more than two decades of global leadership expertise within the energy industry, with a career spanning the UK, U.S., Australia and Malaysia. A mechanical engineering graduate of the University of Strathclyde, he has held senior positions in subsea projects, wells, terminal operations, asset management and corporate strategy.
During his tenure at ConocoPhillips, he played a pivotal leadership role in the multi-billion-dollar Willow project in Alaska, overseeing its progression from appraisal to execution as Asset Manager and Vice President. He has extensive experience in driving complex mega-projects and major gas processing facilities safely and efficiently. In his current role, he leads the Malaysia business unit, focusing on integrating operational excellence, portfolio growth and energy security priorities.

Cheam Tat Inn
Cheam Tat Inn is the Managing Director of Equinix Malaysia. He is responsible for driving. Equinix’s growth strategy and expansion of digital infrastructure and ecosystems in Malaysia, to accelerate customers’ digital transformation journey.
Cheam has over three decades of experience in driving business growth and has held the position of Managing Director of leading technology companies, including SAS, The Center of Applied Data Science (CADS), EMC, Sun Microsystems, Nortel Networks and Compaq Computers.
He started his career with IBM Malaysia where he held positions in engineering, sales, marketing and country sales leadership.
He holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Henley Business School,

Lee Wei Chern
Wei Chern is Vice President in Intel Foundry and General Manager of Assembly Test Manufacturing (ATM), part of the Advanced Packaging Technology and Manufacturing organization. He is responsible for Intel’s Assembly Test operations across China, Malaysia, and Vietnam, driving operational excellence to deliver advanced packaging
solutions for customers worldwide.
Since joining Intel in 1994, Wei Chern has built a career spanning supply chain and manufacturing operations, leading global teams and factory start-ups across multiple countries. Outside of work, he is an avid multisport athlete and proudly represented Malaysia at the Ironman World Championship in 2023.
Wong Hooi Ching
Hooi Ching joins JPMorgan Chase with 25 years’ experience in the Banking Industry, and has held senior roles in business development, client coverage, sales and product development with a number of global banks operating in the Asia Pacific region.
A seasoned transaction banking and client coverage senior executive, she has successfully developed & executed business growth agendas for clients and has led senior teams to secure key mandates in capital markets, cash management, supply chain finance and global custody.
In addition to her senior banker skills, she has extensive experience working with a large number of Malaysian and multi-national corporations and financial institutions to structure and implement complex domestic and cross border solutions to address cashflow and working capital efficiency requirements.
Hooi Ching holds an Economics degree in Accounting & Finance, from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom.

Selvam Chinappan
Selvam Chinappan has over 20 years of leadership experience in the electronics and semiconductor industry, with a strong background in manufacturing, supply chain, global trade, and operations. He has been instrumental in helping global companies scale their operations in Malaysia by working closely with government agencies, building talent pipelines, and implementing industry best practices.
Since joining NI in 2010, Selvam has held several senior leadership positions. He currently serves as Managing Director of NI Malaysia and Vice President of APAC Manufacturing, overseeing the company’s operations across the Asia Pacific region.
Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Selvam is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion. His leadership was recognized with TalentCorp’s Work Award in 2023. He sitson the board of the Penang Science Cluster, championing STEM education, and is an active board member of AMCHAM Malaysia, where he supports strengthening U.S.– Malaysia business ties through strategic dialogue, policy advocacy, and collaboration.

Naeem Shahab Khan
Naeem Shahab Khan serves as Managing Director of Philip Morris Malaysia & Singapore, affiliates of Philip Morris International (PMI), a global leader in consumer goods and science-based innovation. Since leading Malaysia operations in 2019 and expanding his role to Singapore in 2025, He has championed PMI’s mission for a smoke-free future, focusing on transitioning adult smokers to scientifically validated alternatives that align commercial success with public health goals.
With nearly 30 years of cross-sector experience across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, He excels in navigating B2C, B2B, and B2G environments. Under his leadership, PMI Malaysia has become a regional pioneer in tobacco harm reduction, balancing innovation with stakeholder collaboration. As Chairman of the Confederation of Malaysian Tobacco Manufacturers (CMTM) and a Board Governor of AMCHAM Malaysia, he advances regulatory modernization and public-private partnerships.
Prior to PMI, he co-founded EZbuy Holding Ltd. and spent 18 years at Philips, where he led regional transformation initiatives, including the launch of Philips Hue.
His board experience spans the Malaysian Dutch Business Council (MDBC), the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute (ASLI), and the E-Commerce Association of Pakistan (ECAP). Recognized for people-first leadership, he emphasizes talent development and consumer-centric innovation. Adeline Wong
Adeline is a senior partner, and she heads the Tax, Trade, and Wealth Management Practice Groups at Wong & Partners, member firm of Baker & McKenzie International. She advises multinational corporations, investment banks, financial institutions, and high-net-worth families on tax (corporate and individual),corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, international trade, customs, tax controversies, trust, and estate planning issues.
Adeline has been with the firm since its inception in 1998 and is recognized as a leader in Tax, having won the Tax Lawyer of the Year by Euromoney Asia Women in Business Law Awards in 2018 and 2020. She is ranked Band 1 for Tax by Chambers Asia Pacific and named in the ‘Hall of Fame’ for Tax by Legal 500 Asia Pacific. Adeline focuses on enhancing transparency and clarity of local tax laws, updating clients on legislative changes, and advocating before regulatory authorities and courts in Malaysia.
